Welcome to Strong Roots Discover & Play

Mission Statement

At Strong Roots Discover & Play, our mission is to provide children with a safe, joyful, and nature-rich environment where play leads the way. We honor each child’s uniqueness and nurture growth across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains. While academic readiness is important, we believe emotional readiness is the foundation that empowers children to enter kindergarten, and life, with confidence, resilience, and curiosity.

The Strong Roots Approach

At Strong Roots, I believe childhood should be rooted in nature, wonder, and joyful discovery. Here, muddy hands, bare feet, and curious hearts are celebrated. The woodland is our classroom, the seasons are our curriculum, and the children’s voices guide our path.

In my care, children grow and learn in countless ways. They become brave, strong, and courageous as they tackle new challenges- whether it be by climbing, leading the way on a trail, or forming new friendships. Along the way, they strengthen their understanding across developmental domains: social, emotional, cognitive, language, literacy, and physical growth. Each experience builds the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to navigate challenges, embrace new opportunities, and thrive in their own unique ways.

Confidence, resilience, empathy, and self-regulation lay the foundation for lifelong learning, and these qualities are nurtured daily through play and nature-based experiences at Strong Roots.

I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, and joyful environment where every child feels seen, valued, and free to flourish. Each child is unique, and I do my best to meet their individual needs and interests through play-based learning, nature-based education, and engaged supervision. My goal is to spark curiosity, nurture development, and create meaningful experiences that help children grow deeply connected to themselves, to others, and to the natural world.

Just as strong roots help a tree grow tall, Strong Roots Discover & Play gives children the foundation to thrive, explore, and discover the world in their own beautiful way.
